The Pakistan Economic Survey 2025–26 says that by the end of March 2026, the country’s installed electricity production capacity had reached 49,651 MW, up 8.5% from 45,782 MW the previous year.

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s (NEPRA) Indicative Generation Capacity Expansion Plan (IGCEP) 2025–35 says that by 2035, capacity could rise to about 64,000 MW, thanks to more water, solar power, and RLNG.

On the other hand, rooftop and net-metered solar has grown to more than 5.3 GW, which is more than doubling in just two years.

Load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination (ETAP)
